Will the price go up after the Kickstarter?

Yes, Dice of Rolling will cost $25 after the Kickstarter and preorders are over (preorders will cost $24). However, we’ll make sure to give our international $1 backers an opportunity to order at the original Kickstarter price.

Will you offer international shipping?

THE BAD NEWS:

We aren’t offering international fulfillment for this project. We realize most projects offer it, but behind the scenes it often becomes problematic. International backers usually pay $35 for shipping, and can also get hit with outrageous duties, taxes, and import fees. For a $100 board game this may be acceptable, but for a $20 dice set it just doesn’t make sense.

THE GOOD NEWS:

After the Kickstarter is over, we can use Amazon’s global export service to get the product to you for a fraction of the normal international shipping cost. Unfortunately, this service only works for orders placed directly on Amazon’s website, so it’s no good for fulfilling Kickstarter pledges. This means Team USA is going to have to carry the Kickstarter, but it’ll be good for everyone in the long run. Focusing on US fulfillment first means fewer distractions and delays for US backers, and it will ultimately save international customers a ton of money on shipping. So if you’re international and you want our dice, please pledge $1 so that you get the project updates. We’ll let you know when international fulfillment becomes available. We’ll make sure you get a chance to order Dice of Rolling before the price goes up to $25.

Don't some spells still use more dice?

We’ve designed one set of Dice of Rolling to cover the majority of spells and abilities in the game, but a there are a few that still use more dice. If you really want to be able to roll the full amount of dice for Meteor Swarm and other crazy spells and abilities, we have an easy solution: just buy two sets and double them up. It’s still possible to create fringe cases that might use more dice, but practically speaking this will cover you for just about anything. And yes, we’ve designed the bag with enough room to hold two full sets.

Does my character class need these?

Classes that are able to cast spells will get the most use out of Dice of Rolling. If you only ever play a Barbarian, you’ll do just fine with a regular set of dice. Some classes that don’t cast spells can still benefit to a limited degree—Rogues in particular due to their Sneak Attack requiring a lot of d6 at higher levels. New players will also benefit regardless of their class, due to all the dice being color-coded.

Are Dice of Rolling perfectly balanced?

Some of you have been asking about whether or not the dice are well balanced. I’m going to be perfectly candid here, since I don’t want anyone buying a product that they won’t end up being happy with…

DICE OF ROLLING ARE NOT PRECISION GAMING DICE.

Opaque dice are almost never perfectly balanced, and ours are no exception. The balance on them is mediocre at best.

Dice of Rolling are trying to solve a usability problem while offering great value. In our opinion, making your d20 roll a fraction of a percent more evenly isn’t very important compared to making sure you roll the right dice in the first place. And we don’t want to double the price of the set in order to solve a problem that we personally do not think is a big deal. If perfect dice balance is important to you, we respect that; but our product isn’t for you. Please find some other product that you will be happier with.

Alternate solution: I think most people only care about the balance of their d20s. So if you already have a couple of perfectly balanced d20s, you could just use your own d20s in place of the included ones. Most of the value of Dice of Rolling is in the other dice anyway.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
