Last Call for Order Updates!

As we continue to work towards the end goal of fulfillment, the time has come to lock down those backer surveys! The last day to make updates to your order is September 30th. After this date, we will lock your reward selections and charge cards for add-on item purchases, pledge upgrades, and pre-orders. 

The reason for the lockdown is that we need to know in advance how many sets we'll be shipping out. If we left the surveys open right up until shipping time, we could get slammed with a bunch of last-minute orders from the Christmas rush, and end up short on dice.

Even though the reward selections will be locked down after this date, you'll continue to be able to update your shipping address until just before orders go out.

Production & Delivery Timeframe Update

Hey all, 

I have good news and bad news! The good news is we've received the first shipment of dice and have begun to quality check each set. The bad news is we weren't happy with a lot of the d20 and have decided to replace them. Bottom line: instead of shipping rewards out in October as originally planned, we're going to have to push shipping back to November. 

I know this sucks, and I'm really sorry for the delay. But I'd rather push things back a month than send out a product I'm not happy with. 

Details

We've started quality checking the first shipment of dice - about 1500 sets. Another shipment of 1500 sets will be arriving next month. 

For the quality check, we inspect every die in each set as well as the bag. It's pretty time consuming, but it's necessary in order to catch some of the more subtle problems that the manufacturer may have missed. 

By the time we checked several hundred sets in this way, it became clear that a very high number of the d20 had paint problems. For example, a common problem was for the d20 to be missing dots on the numbers 6 or 9. 

Some of the d20 fared better than this, others fared worse. At the end of the day, enough were affected that we're going to have to replace them. We're ordering enough replacements to cover the 1500 sets already in our possession, as well as the 1500 sets that have not yet arrived (these sets used the same d20 manufacturing run and will thus be affected by the same problems). 

The replacement d20 have been fast-tracked as much as humanly possible. Despite this, we're not going to be able to fulfill rewards in October any more. The replacements will probably arrive at the very end of October, which means shipping will spill over into November. 

Again, really sorry to everyone who was hoping to get their dice in October. Rest assured, we're busting our butts to get these into your hands ASAP.

Surveys have been available for over a week now, and the vast majority of backers have completed them. However, 163 people still need to fill out their survey! If this is you, don't panic! Emails get lost from time to time. You can resend the survey by going here and entering your email address: https://diceofrolling.backerkit.com/

Note: If you're a $1 backer, you don't need to fill out a survey. It's only for people at the $20+ levels.

Surveys Incoming!

We're planning on sending surveys out by the end of the week, so stay tuned!  

Survey FAQ:

I don't get it! How does this all work?? You'll get an email with a link to the survey. Once you're there, the survey will guide you through a few short steps kind of like an online checkout. It's really easy.

Is the survey where I enter my shipping information? Yes!

Can I change my shipping address after I've entered it? Yes. We'll only lock down the survey right before shipping, and we'll send you a reminder a couple days before that happens.

Can I change my pledge and/or add on more sets? You sure can!

Kickstarter dropped my payment. Can I fix it? Yes, if your payment method was rejected you'll be able to fix it.

This morning as the campaign was coming to an end, we started to see mentions of "Gary Gygax Day" on social media. Believe it or not, we had no idea this was coming. Our dice campaign accidentally ended on Gary Gygax's birthday. Happy Gary Gygax day, everyone! 

Final campaign stats:

• $40,508 Raised
• 810% of Goal
• 2,114 Dice Sets

THANKS so much to everyone who backed! Now the real work begins. We'll continue to send out updates and let you know how things are going between now and when we ship. 

What to expect next: 

In about 2 weeks, you'll receive a Backerkit survey. It's called a survey, but it's more like a special web page where you can manage your pledge. The Backerkit survey is where you'll enter your shipping information. Even if your address changes, you can go back to the survey and update it.
